CONSTRUCTION BUDDIES

CONSTRUCTION BUDDIES

Our Story

FROM DESPAIR TO PURPOSE

Construction Buddies was born from lived experience, not a boardroom.

Michael Turlin has spent decades working in construction. In 2009, after a series of devastating personal losses, he reached the lowest point of his life and tried to end it. His journey back was not instant. It was one day, one conversation and one step at a time.

An ordinary man from a building site

Michael does not present himself as a doctor or therapist. He is a construction professional who knows what it feels like to struggle, to survive and to find purpose afterwards.

Turning experience into conversations

By sharing his story openly at work and at events, people began approaching him and talking about things they had kept hidden. Those conversations became the reason to keep going.

Why Construction Buddies exists

Construction can be a rewarding industry, but pressure, long hours, financial worries, working away from home and a culture of keeping problems to yourself can take a toll. Construction Buddies exists to make talking feel normal.

“I am just an ordinary man who works on a construction site that reached the lowest point imaginable and found a way back.”

One conversation can matter more than you realise.

Ask twice: How are you? How are you really?
